On January 20th (local time), Maison Valentino unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024-25 Men's Collection, "Le Ciel 20.24," at the Musée des Monnaies in Paris.

A constant reflection of contemporary masculinity, Valentino's Fall/Winter 2024-25 Men's Collection, "Le Ciel 20.24," by Pierpaolo Piccioli, explores pure color as a communication tool for conveying ideas and ideals. A color freed from social conventions and expectations. The language of blue, often associated with masculinity, is reframed, reevaluated, and reimagined.

Color is given new meaning. Once a feminine color, blue has only become a symbol of masculinity within the last century. In this collection, blue is liberated and reimagined to represent a shifting masculinity. A symbol of freethinking, sky blue is an experimental way to broaden horizons and question what it means to be a man.

Traditionally masculine wardrobes and preconceptions are redefined with a new identity. Softness, fluidity, delicacy, grace—power found in vulnerability—shifts our perception of what defines masculinity and power in clothing.

This message is conveyed through clothes that reflect ideologies and philosophies, fashioning a way of being. Clothing that incorporates new approaches and insights. Softened tailoring creates a softer masculinity. Combining the two realms of tailoring and haute couture, embroidery and decoration transform not only the surface of the garment, but also its identity.

Celebrating artisanal craftsmanship is also a sign of humanity. Mythological motifs are rendered in intarsia within tailoring, telling tales of virtue, life and universal morality, evoking idealism and timeless human values. A sculptural embroidery technique called Valentino Altrilievo (high relief) adorns the shoulders of jackets, subverting archetypes of masculine strength.
