A joint project between Kappa and A.four Labs has welcomed London-based illustrator Will Sweeney to create a capsule collection. The collection will be released exclusively at the PHENIX CREATIVE SELECT STORE in Harajuku on June 27, 2020.
Kappa x Will Sweeney x A.four Labs
“INTERPLANETARY FITNESS PROGRAM”

This is a joint project between Kappa, the Italian sports brand closest to the street scene, and A.four Labs, a Tokyo- and London-based collective that expresses art through fashion. Previously, the brand has collaborated with Copenhagen-based music label Posh Isolation and Shauna T., co-founder of Paris-based fashion brand Perks And Mini, to bring out the unique personalities of each brand's diverse fields. Now, for its third project, the brand has teamed up with London-based artist Will Sweeney. Sweeney grew up watching Kappa, a favorite of UK breakdancers and football casuals in the '80s, and the capsule collection, titled "INTERPLANETARY FITNESS PROGRAM," was conceived by Sweeney. The collection is based on the idea of intergalactic lifeforms coming together to engage in a cosmic workout that is effective both physically and mentally. The packable jacket features an alien creature that appears when tucked into a pocket, and the hood features a color scheme inspired by the alien's mohawk. And now, the banda tape, a symbol of the project since its inception, features Sweeney's graffiti-style graphics, reversing Kappa's iconic Omini logo, featuring a man and woman facing back to back, to read "A4." The collection, which shows off a variety of looks with its muted tones and rich color blocks, is a fusion of A.four Labs' meticulous and playful clothing design and Sweeney's creations, making it enjoyable for everyone from Generation Z who are encountering Kappa for the first time to generations with nostalgia.

In Japan, the collection will be released exclusively at the PHENIX CREATIVE SELECT STORE in Harajuku on June 27, 2020.
