Louis Vuitton has released the Tambour Spin Time Air, a Japan-exclusive model.

The Louis Vuitton Tambour Spin Time is a watch that displays the time using 12 rotating cubes instead of an hour hand. Every 60 minutes, two adjacent cubes instantly rotate, letting you know the passage of time. This groundbreaking time display method, which is both highly technical and playful, is the result of a patented movement developed in 2009.
This one-of-a-kind automatic movement was further refined through the ingenuity of the skilled artisans at Louis Vuitton's watchmaking atelier, La Fabrique du Temps, and in 2019 came to fruition as the Caliber LV88 with a 35-hour power reserve, giving birth to the Tambour Spin Time Air. The movement is housed beneath the center of the case, sandwiched between two pieces of sapphire glass, making it even more beautiful, and the dial is designed so that the time displayed in a cube appears to be floating in space.
This new model is inspired by traditional Japanese patterns and the four seasons and will be released exclusively in Japan.

The "Seigaiha" pattern, characterized by beautiful varying shades of blue used in the centre of the dial of this white gold model, is said to have originated as a design from ancient Persia, and was introduced to Japan via the Silk Road during the Asuka period, where it was developed into a uniquely Japanese pattern.
This pattern depicts small waves, one by one, spreading out into the vast ocean, and the endlessly spreading wave pattern is considered to be an auspicious pattern, imbuing it with the wish for eternal happiness and people's wish for a peaceful life. Each rotating cube is inscribed with one of the Maison's 12 letters: "L, O, U, I, S, V, U, I, T, T, O, N," with the yellow letters indicating the hours.

The other is a pink gold model with diamonds and colorful stones adorning the lugs and case. It features an intricately painted dial that combines the Maison's signature Monogram Flower with motifs such as "flowers" and "fireflies" that represent Japan's four seasons. Crafted by the Maison's masterful dial artisans, the dial features a vibrant array of subtly different motifs. This watch has a very romantic style, with the cube of the hour hand rotating to tell the time, just like the seasons change.
