Director Sono Sion's first Roman Porno film, "Antiporno," will be released at Shinjuku Musashinokan and other theaters starting January 28th. The first trailer was released on January 10th.
The film is a part of the Nikkatsu Roman Porno label, which began in 1971 and is synonymous with "one sex scene every 10 minutes." The label has produced over 1,000 films under its unique rules, including "one sex scene every 10 minutes" and a running time of approximately 70 minutes.
The trailer for Sono's latest film, "Antiporno," based on his own original screenplay, depicts a visual world that blends reality and fiction in full Sion Sono style. In a room adorned with brilliant colors, Kyoko (Tomite Ami), a charismatic novelist, and her manager Noriko (Tsutsui Mariko) begin an eccentric conversation. Kyoko whips Noriko, saying, "Are you a whore?", and Noriko slaps her back, saying, "You total rookie!" Amidst a never-ending nightmare where reality and fiction, sadism and masochism, freedom and intolerance, charisma and slavery intertwine, secrets from Kyoko's past are revealed. The film stars Tomite Ami, a young actress who Sono sees as the one he most hopes to grow from, having appeared in almost all of his films released in 2015. She takes on the challenging role, willing to strip naked, saying, "I'll strip for director Sono's film." The role of Noriko, Kyoko's manager who tolerates her sadistic behavior, is played by talented actress Tsutsui Mariko, who has won numerous Japanese film awards, including the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, Best Actress at the 38th Yokohama Film Festival, and Best Actress at the 31st Takasaki Film Festival. This will be the first time that both Tomite and Tsutsui will appear fully nude in the film.
