A sparkling heart at the 1 o'clock position. Franck Muller releases a new Long Island Relief watch.

May 26, 2020

The Long Island collection celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, an iconic timepiece featuring a sparkling heart at the 1 o'clock position has been released. The combination of the Long Island and heart is a unique design, making it a truly precious piece.

The Long Island features vertical proportions inspired by the "bridge" that wealthy Manhattanites crossed in the 1920s to head to Long Island for weekend getaways. The linear design blends beautifully with the curved shape of the case from the side, creating an elegant, curvaceous aesthetic that symbolizes the artistic style of Art Deco, which flourished in the early 20th century. Developed for comfort, the watch features a timepiece with a unique aesthetic.

The Byzantine numerals on the indexes are "relief processed," a technique that involves embossing them from the back of the dial, creating a three-dimensional raised appearance. A distinctive feature of this process is the shine of the indexes, which are the same color as the watch case material, and the shadows created by the light permeate every corner of the dial, vividly emphasizing its sparkle.

Watchmaker Franck Muller, who has pursued the quest for uniqueness in complicated watches, has also achieved the ultimate feat in design, creating "original Franck Muller designs" that are recognizable at a glance.
