Tsuchiya Kaban will release two new products from its leather goods brand "TSUCHIYA KABAN" that use "Mylo™," a leather substitute material made from mushroom mycelium. Pre-orders will be available at directly managed stores from August 18th and on the online store from August 31st. Products will also be on display at the Shibuya store from August 18th and at the Kyoto store from September 8th.

In May 2022, Tsuchiya Kaban announced the joint development of a new material model using Mylo™ with Bolt Threads, the US biotech company that developed Mylo™. In December 2022, together with its other brand, objcts.io, Tsuchiya Kaban became the first Japanese brand to release a mini wallet, wallet bag, and iPhone case using Mylo™. This time, the company will release a handbag and shoulder bag as its second new product.

Founded in 1965, this leather goods brand originated from a workshop set up by a randoseru craftsman in Tokyo. They manufacture and sell randoseru and leather products based on the concept of "things that will be loved for all time." They value careful manufacturing, aiming for a simple and elegant appearance that can be cherished for a long time, using Japanese sensibilities and the handiwork of their artisans. They operate the Nishiarai Main Store and Karuizawa Workshop, which both have workshops attached, as well as 16 stores (12 domestically and 4 overseas) specializing in leather bags for adults.
