New lily of the valley motif collection from Dior Maison home collection

Apr 30, 2020

Dior's home collection, "Dior Maison," which brings small joys to everyday life, is introducing a new collection, "Lily of the Valley," featuring lily of the valley flowers as its motif.

Christian Dior's love for lily of the valley stems from childhood memories of spending time in the garden of their Granville home, which his mother had painstakingly created to resemble the Garden of Eden.

It soon became one of his lucky charms, and he would wear it in the buttonholes of his jackets or sew it onto the lapel of his haute couture pieces for good fortune.

It also inspired the 1957 dress "MUGET", entirely embroidered with bell-shaped lily of the valley flowers, and the fragrance "Diorissimo", which smells like a spring bouquet.

A symbol of purity and joy, lily of the valley heralds the start of warmer seasons and graces the new collection for the House of Dior by Cordelia de Castellane.

Ceramic tableware, decorative bowls and glasses decorated with lily of the valley are an ode to nature, good fortune and an expression of a beautiful art de vivre (way of life).
