Philosophy, with new creative director Lorenzo Serafini, will present its debut collection in Milan on February 27th. Ahead of the event, the brand has released a short film expressing its new image.
Lorenzo's first runway show, the Pre-Fall 2015 collection, was inspired by the image of a young Brooke Shields. Innocent yet sensual, it redefines "romantic glamour."
The short film features Hilary Rhoda, a popular American model. In an archaic atmosphere reminiscent of the films of the 1970s when Shields was active, Rhoda, clad in the collection, strikes a variety of poses with a sweet smile on her face.
Lorenzo Serafini has previously served as lead designer at Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana. This season, he has developed a collection centered on prints, building on the aesthetic he has cultivated throughout his career. He also pursued modern, distinctively sexy proportions, further emphasizing the feminine and free spirit of Philosophy.
The collection is centered around romantic shirts and blouses with large collars, small ruffles, and pearl buttons. The black and white prints feature Italian garden flowers designed like tapestries. The "Antique Lace" print, based on 19th-century lace, features a unique combination of red and ink blue.
