Balenciaga's Fall 23 collection was unveiled with images of models taking selfies in fitting rooms at Balenciaga stores, wearing pieces that comprise the collection's newly updated signature pieces, innovative accessories, and research into tailoring and sustainability.

Many of the jewelry, eyewear, and outerwear shells are made from recycled or bio-based materials, including silver, polyester, nylon, and polyamide. Balenciaga puffers, biker, skater, and varsity jackets are reimagined through a study of volume and texture; parkas become wraps and gilets; peacoats and trenches are cropped and tucked under; and suit jackets and shirts are expanded, doubled, or padded, creating a multitude of reimagined silhouettes.

Sweaters come with attached gloves or are constructed without seams, while casual separates—tracksuits, trousers, hoodies, and t-shirts—are presented in unusual proportions and luxurious materials, including mirrored satin, fluid velvet, bleached moulton, soft leather, and rubberized mesh. Jeans are crafted from soft, left-hand twill denim, organically sourced in Japan or indigo-ringed in Italy.

The BB Soft bag is foldable for added flexibility. The Hourglass bag is reconstructed from solid metal or completely covered in faux fur. The Beach Bag is inspired by the practice of turning straw hats inverted to create baskets. Le Cagole is reintroduced as a small duffel and belt bag. The 4x4 bag is a flexible cube with a zippered center. The Mary-Kate bag is a convex tote crafted from embossed, lined leather.

The Crush bag, Anatomic shoe, and Home slide arrive in new textures and sizes. The Defender returns with an all-over tread clog. The Witch boot has an exaggerated, slightly curled, pointed shape. The Santiago boot adds unexpected curves to a Western style. Pumps are covered in monochrome flower petals. The Knife panta shoe is covered in fishnet stockings in fresh color tones.
