"Capillaries," a solo exhibition by artist baanai, will be held at "ART UP," an art gallery space on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building.
 "ARIGATOUGOZAIMASU" (1.5 million yen)
"ARIGATOUGOZAIMASU" (1.5 million yen)
This exhibition marks the first in about a year since the "inaiinaibaanai" exhibition, which was the opening exhibition when "ART UP" opened at the Isetan Men's Building on February 27th last year. The exhibition will be in two parts, with the first part being held here at the Isetan Men's Building and the second part scheduled to be held in Tokyo this spring.
The title of this exhibition at Isetan Men's Department Store, "Capillaries," refers to capillaries. Taking this image as its starting point, the artist has been painting an image of capillaries expanding throughout the body (and the universe) for 365 days without a break, using the words "ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU" to describe a work that could be considered an experiment for the artist himself. This work will be shown for the first time.
 "ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU" (375,000 yen)

Another distinctive feature of the works on display this time is their "multilayered nature." The bottom layer of the painted canvas is covered in the words "ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU." This work expresses the feelings behind these words as both inherent and manifest, and also as the principles of this world and the universe that are made up of visible and invisible things.
A special event is also planned to be held during the exhibition. Detailed dates and times will be announced later on the event page of Isetan Men's official media "IMn" (https://www.imn.jp/).
