Jinkato presented its 2013 Spring/Summer collection. The theme was "Symbiosis," a wish for harmony among the four northern islands, where designer Toru Kato, originally from Nemuro, Hokkaido, has roots. The collection was based on the islands' natural environment. The first half featured dresses featuring delicate couture work such as floral and cord embroidery, fringe, and lace. The second half featured pieces that added volume to the sleeves with cutouts and tucks, and created structured forms with complex patterns. Styles that added volume to the back were particularly notable, such as a dress with multiple cutouts at the back that created a flared back neck. When the gown, which was hanging down on both arms, was taken off, it was revealed to be connected to the dress, forming a train.
