Yves Saint Laurent Beaute's oil lipstick is a huge hit, selling one every 20 seconds

Feb 20, 2015

Yves Saint Laurent Beaute's first oil lipstick, Volupté Tint-in-Oil (3,800 yen), released on February 13th, has been breaking sales records at a rate of one bottle every 20 seconds since its release. The lipstick is formulated with five types of plant oils, combining the treatment benefits of an oil serum with the effects of makeup. Its distinctive color is fresh and translucent. It is currently recording some of the highest sales of any lipstick to date, and an event celebrating its release, held in Omotesando, Tokyo on Valentine's Day, attracted over 2,000 people over two days to try the lipstick. The new shades of Rouge Volupté Shine and Volupté Candy, released on the same day, are also selling briskly. Among them, Rouge Volupté Shine, which was released in 2013 and is known as the "marriage-hunting lipstick," has the highest sales volume in the world in Japan, and is still selling at a rate of one per minute.
