KYOTOGRAPHIE 2023, a unique photography festival unique to Kyoto, will be held again this year from April 15th to May 14th, 2023. It showcases important works and valuable photographic collections from Japan and abroad in quaint historical buildings and modern contemporary architecture, and sometimes features collaborations with traditional craftsmen and cutting-edge technology.

For this photography festival, Dior will be providing special support to photographer Yuriko Takagi's "PARALLEL WORLD." Yuriko Takagi has traveled extensively to Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East, but has recently based herself in Karuizawa. From her unique perspective, she has pursued the "human presence" through fashion and the human body. Her work captures the unique atmosphere of each location and the profound life with a delicate yet powerful intensity. For the current exhibition "Christian Dior, Couturier of Dreams" at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, she photographed creations by Dior's past creative directors, and her work is included in the exhibition and catalog. For this "KYOTOGRAPHIE" exhibition, she will be holding her solo exhibition "PARALLEL WORLD" in the kitchen and Okiyodokoro area of the Ninomaru Palace in Nijo Castle, Kyoto, which was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo shogunate, to protect the Kyoto Imperial Palace, where the Emperor resided. This exhibition includes archive pieces that Yuriko Takagi photographed exclusively for Dior.
