A tailored jacket is essential for a return to elegance. Take a look at how to wear it in a versatile way [Paris Snap]

Mar 18, 2023
Paris Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2023-24 season took place from February 28th to March 7th. This season's collections revisited archives for a modern reinterpretation, and under the theme of "reset and restart," many creations demonstrated a strong will to move forward into an uncertain future. The long-standing street style has completely faded into the background, with a strong trend back towards authentic fashion. A similar trend was also evident off the runway, with jackets over sweatshirts and fitted silhouettes more prominent than oversized styles. Many industry insiders, quick to pick up on the elegant trend and incorporating it into their everyday wear, favored the tailored jacket this season. Take a look at these ideas for styling timeless items in your own style.

Akimoto Kozue / Model

Akimoto Kozue, a model and regular at Paris Fashion Week, was flashed by street style photographers in a Sacai look. The brand's hybrid approach shines through in this unique style, with a modified jacket that combines a tailored jacket and a cape. The style, which intentionally breaks down the formal style of a jacket and white shirt to create a modern look, was a key creation on this season's runway.

Mona Matsuoka / Model

Model Mona Matsuoka was spotted at the Undercover show. She wore a neutral-colored suit set made from a light, fluid material, creating a fresh look perfect for spring and summer. The ripped, distressed finish and neon-colored brooch and shoes create a somewhat punkish mood.

Alexandra Karl / Fashion Director

Alexandra, a fashion director from Denmark, specializes in minimalist looks. She wears a classic, structured tailored jacket in a slightly oversized fit for a relaxed feel. She casualizes the look with wide bottoms that contrast with the formal upper body, and tightens up the look with an Hermès Kelly bag. The balance is exquisite!

Linda Fargo / Fashion Director, Bergdorf Goodman

Linda, who has worked for many years at Bergdorf Goodman, a long-established New York department store, is wearing her own Sacai collection. She layered a hybrid outerwear piece that combines a down jacket and a tailored jacket with a typical Sacai item that transforms the jacket into a strapless dress. This is a lovely, modern style that breaks the stereotype of jacket style.

Extra Edition
Tailored jackets come in a variety of styles, including fabric, silhouette, lapel shape, and length. Whether worn oversized like a dress or elevating a casual look to elegance, this timeless item is a great choice to have in your wardrobe, and people in the industry seem to be crazy about it.
