Hedi Slimane's Celine perfume is born

Aug 21, 2019
Celine has announced the first perfume line by artistic and creative image director Hedi Slimane, the "CELINE HAUTE PARFUMERIE COLLECTION."

The "Haute Parfumerie Collection" consists of 11 fragrances across two lines, the "Daily Line" and the "Evening Line." The androgynous perfumes, which deliberately do not distinguish between traditional masculine and feminine notes, are a unique proposal from Hedi Slimane, who has been questioning social notions of gender for over 20 years. The daily line includes "PARADE," "SAINT-GERMAIN-DES-PRÉS," "DANS PARIS," "COLOGNE FRANÇAISE," "LA PEAU NUE," "EAU DE CALIFORNIE," "BOIS DORMANT," and "RIMBAUD." The evening line includes "BLACK TIE," "REPTILE," and "NIGHTCLUBBING." Each name and fragrance is inspired by a moment, place, or person that Hedi Slimane remembers.

A tribute to traditional French glassmaking techniques, this minimalist rectangular bottle was designed by Hedi Slimane, drawing on the classicism of the late 17th century. Both sides are decorated with sharp fluting and feature a black lacquer cap engraved with the Maison's emblem, the Triomphe.

To coincide with the launch of the "Haute Parfumerie Collection," the first Haute Parfumerie boutique will open at 390 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. The boutique will start selling all perfumes from the end of October 2019 (Bois d'Ormont and Rimbaud are scheduled to be released in 2020). In Japan, the collection will be available in limited stores from the end of October. Details of the release and prices have yet to be decided.
