ETRO will release a Star Wars capsule collection, an exclusive collaboration with Walt Disney Pictures' Lucasfilm, at its Ginza flagship store from July 24th. Pop-up stores will be held at the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building from July 31st to August 6th, and at Hankyu Men's Osaka from August 21st to 27th, with the collection to be rolled out sequentially.


This collection was announced just a few months before the release of Episode 9, "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," directed by J.J. Abrams and marking the final installment in the Star Wars series. The importance of family, love, courage, and generosity is not only rooted in the film's story, but also in the poetics of Etro Men's Creative Director Kean Etro, who wanted to celebrate Star Wars with a playful and colorful capsule collection.
"Hoodie" (¥79,000)
This unisex collection was also seen on Etro's Spring/Summer 2020 catwalk. The lineup includes 14 pieces—urban essentials like a hoodie, crewneck sweatshirt, two shirts, five t-shirts, and a bomber—digitally printed with iconic Star Wars episodes from the '70s and '80s. The collection features positive and lovable characters such as Luke Skywalker from 1977's "A New Hope," Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, R2-D2, and C-3PO. A print featuring Yoda, Keen Etro's favorite character, is taken from a scene in the second film, 1980's "The Empire Strikes Back."

The "Star Wars" capsule collection will be available in major stores worldwide from July. In Japan, the "ETRO x STAR WARS" pop-up store will be held at the Ginza flagship store on July 24th, followed by the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building, 3rd floor, Men's Designers/Promotions section from July 31st to August 6th, and at the Hankyu Men's Osaka, 1st floor, special space from August 21st to 27th.
