Gucci Places is a project that invites visitors to travel and explore places around the world that have inspired Gucci. Launched in 2017, the project selects locations from around the world that align with the brand's worldview and values, and to date, 13 locations have been added to the list. Each Gucci Place features a patch inspired by the location and offers exclusive items in the Gucci Courier collection.

New passport case featuring a waltz patch


The location Gucci selected in Tokyo for 2017 was "waltz" in Nakameguro. The shop stocks cassette tapes, records, VHS tapes, boomboxes, back issues of fashion and design magazines, and books. The Gucci Courier Collection's limited edition "Waltz" items feature audio cassette patches inspired by the shop's vision, and include a collaboration drawstring backpack and long wallet. In addition to these, the second wave will also include a new passport case. The items are scheduled to go on sale at Waltz and Gucci Aoyama from mid-June 2019.







In addition, a special program titled "Good Music, Gucci Places" will be aired on TOKYO FM on June 2nd. Waltz owner Taro Tsunoda will talk with guests Kazunobu Mineta (Gin Nang BOYS) and Hama Okamoto (OKAMOTO'S) about the appeal of analogue sound sources in the digital age, including the current state of cassette tape culture and the future potential of cassette tapes, and will also air cassette tape music on the show. Guests, each with their own feelings about cassette tapes, will be able to enjoy cassette tape discussions.
