Born in 1988, Saiko Otake graduated from the University of the Arts London and returned to Japan in 2016. Based in Ehime and Tokyo, she is actively engaged in creative activities both in Japan and abroad. Her unique world, composed of compound perspectives, is expressed using a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, photography, and collage. The fragments of the universe (Cosmos) that responded to her antennae and discovered (Disco/ver) have, over time, become bold and delicate image structures. Collaged using various techniques, these works become portals to other dimensions. This year's "COSMOS DISCO" will feature over 30 new works on display and for sale, as well as related merchandise such as zines. Ten titles from her full-color zine series, including "NIPPON," "SOMEWHERE," and "SWI-SS," will be released, including the new "PAPAPARIS," featuring scenes from her time in Paris. Additionally, Ayako Otake will be creating drawings at the venue over five days, from the first day of the exhibition, May 31st through June 4th. Furthermore, on July 20th, Otake will be performing a live painting session starting at 3:00 PM, followed by an artist talk event featuring musicians such as the Ohashi Trio, starting at 4:30 PM. Don't miss this long-awaited solo exhibition, showcasing the dazzling world of artworks "collected" by Ayako Otake's imagination, from the boundless expanse of the universe to the microscopic depths of cell membranes.
