Onitsuka Tiger will release a limited edition of 5,000 pairs of shoes in collaboration with the fighting game "Street Fighter" on July 27th. In advance of the release, pre-orders began being accepted at Onitsuka Tiger directly managed stores from July 16th.

"MEXICO 66 SD" (18,000 yen)
The collaboration model shoes are based on the brand's iconic "MEXICO 66 SD" model, and feature a design that incorporates the colors of the costume of Chun-Li, a character from "Street Fighter V Arcade Edition," as well as the dragon graphic used on her sash.

This product also includes a card with a product code that allows you to choose between an original Onitsuka Tiger outfit for Chun-Li in the game and the newly released "MEXICO 66 SD" shoes. This is a special model that also collaborates with the in-game Chun-Li. For details on sales methods, please visit the Onitsuka Tiger official website (https://www.onitsukatigermagazine.com/?p=77709).

In addition, to commemorate this collaboration, a traveling exhibition will be held leading up to the shoe's release, showcasing original Chun-Li artwork created by 10 artists, including manga artists Masakazu Katsura, Cho Hikaru, and Misaki Tanaka. The shoes are scheduled to be available at the Onitsuka Tiger Omotesando store from May 24th to 26th, the Onitsuka Tiger Shinjuku East store from June 7th to 9th, and the Onitsuka Tiger Namba store from June 21st to 23rd.

Ahead of the release, a launch event called "ART OF CHUN-LI CHUN-LI FIGHT" was held at Ebisu Liquid Room on May 23rd. The event was directed by Tetsuya Chihara of Lemon Life. Various guests attended, including Masakazu Katsura and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, who performed live as a special guest.

"For the collaboration movie, I imagined Chun-Li, a character I've loved since I was little, and it was a strange experience, like I'd been transported to the world of the game. The shoes I wore for the shoot were so light that I felt like I wasn't even wearing them. My feet were comfortable even during long shoots, so I'd like to wear them everyday as well." (Kyary Pamyu Pamyu)

The gallery on the second floor of Liquid Room features paintings of Chun-Li by 11 artists, including Masakazu Katsura. Participating artists include Hiro Sugiyama, Wataboku, Tanaka Misaki, Hashizume Yuya, Rooo Lou, and more.
