Matsuya Ginza "Lifestyle Shopping Arcade" - a collaboration between Matsunoya and Labor & Waite, where you can find all the tools you need for your daily life

Event Date:2019.05.08-05.14
May 8, 2019
The "2nd Ginza Living Shopping Arcade," an event gathering together household items that become more cherished the more you use them, began on May 8th at the Matsuya Ginza 8th floor Event Square. It will run until the 14th.

This event is being held for the second time, following last year's. The venue is designed to resemble the everyday yet unique shopping arcades you'll find in any town, where you can find exciting encounters every time you stop by a store and have lively conversations with the makers and store owners. Famous stores selling household goods, antiques, tableware, old tools, daily necessities, stationery, and more will all gather together.

Yellow Birdware Store

Participating stores include Yellow Birdware Store, owned by Takahashi Chie and based in Kunitachi, Roundabout in Yoyogi-Uehara and OUTBOUND in Kichijoji, both run by Kobayashi Kazuto, dogdeco, a pet supplies store owned by Ikeda Isao, and Kawachi Art Supplies, which sells art supplies and art goods.

Roundabout/OUTBOUND

Matsunoya, a long-established new goods store in Bakuro-cho, Tokyo, which has been in business for over 70 years, has collaborated with LABOUR AND WAIT, a London-based lifestyle goods store which opened in 2000, to open a store called Matsunoya x LABOUR AND WAIT. Simple household items that have been loved by people for many years are the same in both Japan and the UK. Each of these two stores introduces everyday items that are both practical and beautifully designed.
