The long 10-day holiday has finally begun. We recommend spending your time visiting exhibitions and galleries, immersing yourself in art and honing your sensibilities.

We've picked out some of the best things to enjoy during Golden Week from various art spots currently hosting international and popular art exhibitions!


International Art Exhibitions

The Setouchi Triennale, held once every three years, will be held in Spring 2019! See works by Tsuyoshi Tane and Chiharu Shiota, Leandro Erlich's Laundromat, and more. (April 26th - May 26th, July 19th - August 25th, September 28th - November 4th)

"KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival 2019" exhibits new works in Kyoto's historic buildings (until May 12)

Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo will host an installation by the late artist Jesus Rafael Soto (until May 12th)





The "Suzuki Toshio and Ghibli Exhibition," focusing on Ghibli's "words," will be held at Kanda Myojin Shrine (until May 12th)



The "Moomin Exhibition" featuring approximately 500 original Moomin drawings and sketches will be held in Roppongi (until June 16th)
