Snoopy is a character from the newspaper comic strip "Peanuts," created by 20th century American cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. The comic strip is still published in 2,200 newspapers in 75 countries and 21 languages, and has been loved by people all over the world for over 60 years. This exhibition, led by Japanese artist Yoshiteru Otani, who became involved with Peanuts in 1993 through the "Snoopy Town" project at a shopping center in Osaka and became close friends with Schulz, introduces a new world of Snoopy in collaboration with science. The title, "FANTARATION," is a portmanteau of "fantastic" and "inspiration," meaning "a wonderful intuition." The exhibition features approximately 80 works born from this "wonderful intuition." The exhibit also features the "Snoopy Dancing Robot," a robot developed in collaboration with the Aichi Institute of Technology; the interactive "Mysterious Sketchbook," where drawings on construction paper move within a video; new Snoopy artworks created by artists active in various genres, including woodworkers and sculptors; and a special exhibit of a "mechanical object" created by Otani for the "Snoopy Town" project under the supervision of Schulz and later donated to the United States. Additionally, the merchandise corner will sell around 350 items, including original exhibition goods that can only be purchased at the venue, such as stuffed animals, mascots, key chains, smartphone cases, and tote bags.
Advance tickets are on sale until April 17th. Why not enjoy the "innovative and fresh world of Snoopy"?
