Following the launch of Chapter I of Louis Vuitton's High Jewelry collection "Spirit" in June last year, Chapter II was unveiled in January 2023, consisting of 30 new pieces.

"Spirit" is the fourth High Jewelry collection designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director of Watches & Fine Jewelry at Louis Vuitton. Francesca has always believed in the intimate connection between jewelry and the person who wears it. "I believe there is no other object in the world that has the power to embody a person's spirit as much as jewelry," she says. This spirit continues in Chapter II of "Spirit." Creations that highlight the craftsmanship of artisans resonate with the Maison's unique design code, and just like Chapter I, the story is set in four universes that reflect the Maison's values: "Liberty," "Destiny," "Fantasy," and "Radiance."
Destiny

Powerful yet feminine and delicate, Destiny is a constellation of 10 designs, a lyric poem in celebration of the radiance of the perfect red ruby, each stone emanating its own special power. The geometric energy and symbolism of Louis Vuitton's "V" form the foundation of the Destiny universe, echoing the dynamism of the Maison and propelling its legacy and vision into the future.
The 36 rubies that hang from this magnificent necklace were sourced over three years, perfectly matched in hue, saturation, and purity. The culmination is a 3.13-carat pear-cut pigeon's blood-type ruby, bursting with flames from a star-cut LV Monogram diamond. The necklace features a repeated "V" motif, with larger and smaller "V"s intersecting with triangle shapes, creating a three-strand necklace that curves around the neck. Numerous hidden links connect the pieces, completing the supple movement.
As with other "Destiny" creations, the two-tone combination of yellow gold and platinum adds depth, volume, and contrast. These motifs are further enhanced in another necklace. This two-strand necklace also features a structural design, with "V" and triangle motifs stacked like architecture. Enhanced by a mix of yellow gold and platinum, the 3.26-carat pear-cut ruby pendant sits amid six sparkling LV Monogram flower-cut diamonds. Other pieces include a bracelet with a delicate lace-like pattern reminiscent of the luxurious padding found inside the Maison's trunks, and a matching ring with a glittering lattice design. The "V" motif is also accentuated in earrings, ranging from powerful, linear drops to modern hoops that sway dramatically behind the ear.

The idea of freedom has been Louis Vuitton's guiding light since its founding. It represents the freedom to explore and discover, the freedom to travel and broaden one's horizons, and the freedom to boldly venture into unknown territory—both physically and metaphorically. The "Liberty" theme is expressed through seven exceptional, expertly crafted creations, each featuring a unique vision and clear design concept, centered around custom-cut and LV Monogram Flower-cut diamonds. As with Chapter I, all of the Maison's signature codes come together in this exquisite necklace. Damier patterns and "V" shapes juxtapose with a hinge motif inspired by the iconic trunk. It's crafted with over 195 custom-cut diamonds, the different shapes interlocking to create an extremely unique pattern. This armor-like necklace took 1,300 hours to craft, and utilizes a variety of heights and shapes, resulting in a deep, sinuous interlocking structure. It is topped by a rare 4.84-carat Colombian emerald and a 2.02-carat LV Monogram flower-cut diamond. This exceptional savoir-faire is also evident in the bold medallion necklace, which can be transformed into a brooch. Individual earrings and rings are also crafted around custom cuts. And the amazing trunk-style pendant necklace can be unlocked and unfolded to invite you on a journey to discover the secrets that lie within.

"Fantasy" embodies the imagination of Louis Vuitton, evoking the creative genius and vitality of a man who invents, dreams and pushes boundaries, embodying the pioneering spirit of the Maison's founder. This unique vision is a key element of movement and expansion, expressed in the chevron pattern. A dazzling yellow gold "V" intertwined with captivating pavé diamonds sparkles, harmoniously arranged to form a single "V" motif, creating a vibrant expression. The interplay of two colors and textures adds contrast and depth, resulting in vibrant jewelry pieces that demonstrate graphic design concepts with a powerful impact.
This theme is exemplified by a captivating two-strand necklace combining a "V" and a chevron pattern. Its astonishing flexibility is the result of meticulous handcraftsmanship. Two LV Monogram star-cut diamonds accent the necklace, which can be worn three different ways. Elsewhere, an exquisite cocktail ring, topped with a dazzling 15.31-carat oval-cut yellow sapphire, is layered with yellow gold and diamonds and enhanced by two LV Monogram star-cut diamonds. Finally, delicate stackable rings featuring repeating chevron patterns of various sizes and heights have been created. These captivating stud earrings each feature over 1.55 carats of LV Monogram star-cut diamonds, surrounded by a swirl of yellow and white gold for a touch of wit.

Since creating her first High Jewelry collection for Louis Vuitton, Francesca Amfitheatrof has envisioned creating a jewellery ensemble that would offer protection to a woman's identity and soul, allowing her to move forward with courage. The sophisticated new "Radiance" necklace radiates bold energy from within, adorning its mirror-polished yellow gold form with geometric patterns of pyramids, triangles and a diamond-paved "V" signature. Its powerful, graphic design is further enhanced by the warmth and sensuality of a 17.48-carat spessartine garnet. The necklace is complemented by a five-row cuff-style bracelet, while a strikingly modern and bold ear cuff takes the protection theme to new heights.
