Each bookstore will act as a concierge, recommending "the book you should read right now" to FASHION HEADLINE readers. Every Saturday, we will introduce books selected by Shelf (3-7-4 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), a Harajuku bookstore specializing in foreign books.

■ "NOKI" by Axel Hoedt

This book compiles a variety of works born from a 10-year collaboration between German photographer Axel Hoedt and artist JJ Hudson (a.k.a. Noki).

The anonymous artist Noki is only recognizable by the mask he wears. These one-off fashion pieces, made up of textile collages, question the very essence of branding and offer a critique of the mass-produced clothing of major sports brands and well-known corporations.
