Mar 4, 2019
AKOMEYA TOKYO in la kagū, the flagship store of AKOMEYA TOKYO, a lifestyle shop that sells food and miscellaneous goods, will open in Kagurazaka on March 30th.

Like previous AKOMEYA TOKYO stores, AKOMEYA TOKYO in la kagū will stock rice and food products under the theme of "a bowl of freshly cooked rice brings about connected happiness," as well as tableware, cooking utensils, beauty care and other miscellaneous goods that offer a "high-quality lifestyle." In addition to offering a wide selection of gift-making items, including rice accompaniments, seasonings, and specialty dashi stocks, the rice section sells approximately 20 varieties of rice carefully selected from all over Japan by weight, and can also polish rice to suit your taste.

The first and second floors feature a curated area called "Niwa/Ba" that offers food-related products and experiences based on Japanese lifestyles, the four seasons, and seasonal ingredients. On March 30th, Chidori Manju Souhonpo (confectionery shop), Kaneju Farm (tea farm), and OIGEN (Nanbu ironware) will open in "Ba." The second-floor space, "soko," will host events and workshops focused on lifestyle lessons that sharpen your sense of style. There will also be talk shows with authors from Shinchosha.

"AKOMEYA Kitchen"
The flagship store also has a well-equipped dining space where you can experience the food you'll only find at the Ginza main store, and this is the second store of "AKOMEYA Kitchen," which was previously only available at the Ginza main store. Starting with carefully selected freshly cooked rice, a variety of dishes are prepared that can also be used at the everyday dinner table, using the food, seasonings, and tableware sold in the store.

"AKOMEYA Chaya"
AKOMEYA Chaya, AKOMEYA TOKYO's first cafe, will offer takeout curry created under the supervision of SPICE CAFE, in addition to drinks, sweets, snacks, and alcohol made with matcha and yuzu. Furthermore, Shiratamaya Shinzaburo, a long-established store in Kumamoto that has been in business for over 380 years since 1632, will open a new cafe called "Shiratama Salon Shinzaburo" as a shop-in-shop. Guests can enjoy freshly made, hand-kneaded, soft shiratama balls made with 100% domestically grown glutinous rice, which were previously only available in Kyushu.

"Lucky Share Box" (3,000 yen)
In addition, AKOMEYA TOKYO in Rakagu will be releasing limited edition packaged products such as "Mamebarrel" (300ml 2,500 yen), "AKOMEYA's Dashi Grilled Flying Fish" (8g x 5 bags 480 yen), and "Kaya Fabric Dishcloth" (500 yen). Limited edition products available for the opening include the "Lucky Share Box" (3,000 yen), filled with AKOMEYA TOKYO's popular products, limited to 200 units, and the "Shiratama Salon Shinzaburo Lucky Share Box" (3,000 yen), limited to 80 units.

From the opening on March 30th, an opening commemorative campaign will be held. The first 200 customers who spend over 3,000 yen (tax included) will receive a free 2 go (180ml) of "Ofukumai" rice. This offer will end while supplies last. In addition, the newly reopened official Akomeya Tokyo online shop (https://www.akomeya.jp) will also carry limited edition Akomeya Tokyo in Rakagu products.
