Gucci x Comme des Garçons! Collaboration bags featuring the Web stripe are available worldwide

Dec 5, 2018
Gucci has announced a collaboration bag with COMME des GARÇONS.
The two brands may seem to have little in common: COMME des GARÇONS is known for its design-led, minimalist approach to fashion, while Gucci is known for its eclectic, decorative style. However, this time, the two brands share a common desire to explore new creative possibilities, and Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele and COMME des GARÇONS founder Rei Kawakubo decided to take on the challenge together.

The bag is based on a COMME des GARÇONS bag and is customized with Gucci's green-red-green Web stripe running vertically. Crafted from brown kraft paper with a distinctive vinyl "shell," the shopper bag embodies contemporary industrial elements and features Gucci's Web stripe, a nod to the brand's ties to the equestrian world and its artisanal heritage. The result is a unique, Made in Japan bag that combines the signature codes of the two brands.

The bag was released as part of the holiday collection on November 23rd at Comme des Garçons in Japan and at Dover Street Market Ginza, and has already sold out. From December 6th, it will be available at Comme des Garçons stores around the world, and will be available exclusively at Gucci's Gucci Garden in Florence.
