Karuizawa Kogen Church will be holding "Christmas Candle Night 2018" from December 1st to 25th, where countless candles will light up the church's forest.
During the event, from 6:30pm to 9pm every day, lantern candles will spread across the church's forest, casting a warm glow, and a 6-meter-tall fir tree will shine into the night sky in "Lantern Candle and Crossroads of Light." When the "Crossroads of Light" appears in the center of the forest, the scene becomes even more fantastical, enveloped in a gentle glow.
In addition, on Saturdays and Sundays from December 1st to 23rd, and on the 24th and 25th, from 6:30pm to 9pm each day, there will be a "Lantern Walk" where you can enjoy a stroll through the forest while lit by a lantern, just like the missionaries of old. Lanterns and "holding hand gloves" will be available for rental, allowing you to enjoy a Christmas experience that you can't get in the city.
The church will hold a "Christmas Music Service" that combines a pastor's sermon with gospel songs, as well as a "Handbell and Harp Ensemble." The "Christmas Music Service" will be held for 20 minutes each at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on December 2nd and 9th, and at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM on the 16th, 23rd, and 25th. The "Handbell and Harp Ensemble" will be held for 20 minutes each at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on December 1st and 8th, and at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM on the 15th, 22nd, and 24th.
