SKOLOCT, a popular brand overseas, will hold an art exhibition at Amazon Fashion's "AT TOKYO"

Event Date:2018.10.16-10.20
Oct 17, 2018
An art exhibition by Tsuyoshi Nakano, designer of NGAP, a popular brand from the '90s Ura-Harajuku boom, and also behind the graffiti brand SKOLOCT, is currently being held at Gallery SIDE in Omotesando.

The exhibition was held from October 6th to 20th as part of "AT TOKYO," a special program of Tokyo's fashion week, "Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO 2019 S/S" (AFWT), which kicked off on October 5th. The reception party held the night before, the 5th, was attended by the artist himself, as well as the vice president of Amazon Japan, and friends who are fans of Tokyo's street fashion.

< ... The brand is known for having a wide fan base both outside of Japan, having been invited to a pop-up at K-POP Hong Kong and the fashion event Inner Sect Shanghai.

This was the first At Tokyo event to be an art exhibition rather than a runway format, and nearly 50 pieces, which carry on the brand's roots in Harajuku street graffiti, including the brand's character, Skoloct, were almost all sold out on the day of the reception. 20 limited edition T-shirts (all 7,800 yen) could also be purchased on the spot by accessing the Amazon website directly via a QR code.

Tokyo's 90s street culture continues to attract attention overseas, so Amazon Fashion's future curation will also be of interest.
