adidas Originals has teamed up with the wildly popular anime series Dragon Ball Z for the first time. The first two models in the "adidas Originals by Dragon Ball Z" collection will be released on September 29th.

The "adidas Originals by Dragon Ball Z" collection focuses on three iconic battles in Dragon Ball Z, with seven shoe models featuring the main heroes and villains from each battle. Two models will be released each month from September to December. The special shoeboxes also feature a design inspired by the spine of the original Dragon Ball Z manga, allowing collectors to create a single special design. The first two models to appear in the collection are the Son Goku-inspired ZX 500 RM DB and the Frieza-inspired YUNG-1 DB. The ZX 500 RM DB has been updated with an image of the main character, Son Goku, and features an orange and blue color palette inspired by the spirit of "ki." Featuring classic mesh and suede, the canvas fabric on the three stripes and tongue is intentionally left uncut to represent the torn gi worn by Son Goku.

Furthermore, the yellow mesh on the toe box and sides evokes the image of Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan. Various elements are scattered throughout the shoe to faithfully express the world of Dragon Ball Z, including the dragon ball on the tongue, the kanji character for "Go" on the heel patch, and graphics of the flying cloud and sound of flying on the side of the shoe.


The "YUNG-1 DB" features a purple and white color palette updated to reflect the image of "Frieza." The sleek, impactful, and destructive silhouette is combined with various materials, including suede, and accented with pink, faithfully recreating the image of "Frieza." Purple TPU material accents "Frieza's" shiny shoulders and head, while embossed suede patches on the sides represent his sturdy, powerful physique. The shoe tongue and insole feature graphics that pay tribute to Dragon Ball, another main character of this work.
