The latest film, "Isle of Dogs," is set in near-future Japan. Director Wes Anderson, a great lover of Japan, says, "I was heavily inspired by Japanese masters such as Akira Kurosawa."

When a dog flu outbreak breaks out in Megasaki City, the dogs are quarantined on a waste disposal island called "Isle of Dogs." The story follows 12-year-old Kobayashi Atari, who steals a plane and travels alone to the Isle of Dogs to find his beloved dog, Spots. The characters and dogs, created over four years by a team of 670 people, embark on an epic journey set in meticulously designed Japanese sets.

Moonrise Kingdom, released in 2012, is set on a New England island in the 1960s and tells the story of two eccentric 12-year-olds who plan a secret escape.
Sam, a Boy Scout boy who feels lonely as an adopted child and uncomfortable because he is different from his peers, falls in love with Susie, a girl who loves books. Feeling confined by camp life, the two begin corresponding, decide to elope, and hatch an escape plan. This is an incredibly happy entertainment film sprinkled with the playful spirit of Hollywood stars.

In addition, if you purchase the "Isle of Dogs" manga book (serialized in Kodansha's "Morning"), which goes on sale August 23rd, from Yujiku after August 25th, you will receive a postcard signed by the author, Minetaro Mochizuki.
