The flagship store of Finnish lifestyle brand Marimekko, the Marimekko Omotesando store, will be reopening on August 31st.


Marimekko is a design house loved around the world for its unique prints and use of color. Since its founding in 1951, it has developed a true lifestyle brand that has developed its own unique style into everything from fashion, bags, and accessories to home décor.

The newly reopened Marimekko Omotesando store, which opened in March 2006, carries the full Marimekko line and is one of only six Marimekko global flagship stores worldwide (Helsinki, Stockholm, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Omotesando).

The design of the Marimekko Omotesando store was handled by Marimekko's store design team, based on a new basic concept proposed by the world-famous design studio Pentagram.
The central concept was the image of a bright and colorful Marimekko house, where various worldviews and moods intertwine. With a wide range of categories including fashion, home, bags, and accessories, the flagship store will allow customers to fully enjoy the Marimekko lifestyle.

To commemorate the reopening, Marimekko Omotesando store will be giving away limited edition novelties (Unikko pattern furoshiki, Unikko pattern pin badge) on a first-come, first-served basis. The Unikko pattern furoshiki will be given to those who purchase products worth 21,600 yen or more (tax included), and the Unikko pattern pin badge will be given to those who purchase one or more Unikko pattern items. Supplies are limited.
