This year marks the 73rd anniversary of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store's "73rd Kyoto Specialties Rakushu Exhibition," one of the few large-scale department store events to bring together Kyoto's long-established stores. Based on the overall theme of "An encounter between 'Ancient Kyoto' and 'New Kyoto,'" the event will express tradition and culture through "beauty," "skill," and "taste," proposing a new, high-quality lifestyle in Kyoto.

Good luck in the New Year! New Year's items made by Kyoto artisans

〈Kyoto Odamasu〉Gold-Decorated Daifuku 165,000 yen *Limited to 3 pieces
Founded in 1959, Kyoto Odamasu established its workshop in Yamashina. They have been carrying on the tradition of Kyoto ceramic dolls, with roots in unglazed dolls dating back to the time of Emperor Suinin. They hand-paint and handcraft Hina dolls, May dolls, lucky charms, and Shishi dolls to express the essence of Kyoto. Since ancient times, white rabbits have been sacred creatures and are said to be messengers of the gods. We have prepared an auspicious zodiac doll for next year, featuring a plump white rabbit decorated with a pattern full of treasures.
