Ryoji Ikeda is an electronic musician and visual artist who has attracted global attention for his work across the fields of visual and sound media, pursuing the essential characteristics of sound itself and their visualization with a relentless focus on mathematical precision and aesthetics. He creates live performances and installations that envelop the viewer, using meticulous compositions that combine sound, video, materials, physical phenomena, and mathematical concepts. In addition to his musical activities, Ikeda has been working on long-term projects such as the "datamatics" series (2006-), the "test pattern" project (2008-), the "spectra" series (2001-), the collaborative project "cyclo." with Carsten Nicolai, "superposition" (2012-), "supersymmetry" (2014-), and "micro | macro" (2015-).

This event will feature an all-night performance of three of Ikeda's previously released audiovisual works. On July 27th, "formula [ver.2.3]" (created between 2000 and 2005) will be performed. A perfect synchronization of audio frequencies and visuals unfolds, placing listeners in a dualistic space, amplifying their perceptions in the darkness. Sound, video, light, and a variety of other elements are flawlessly integrated, creating a stunning world orchestrated by a precise score. On the 28th, "C4I" (produced from 2004 to 2006) will be performed. Footage of beautiful natural scenery is slowly abstracted into linguistic data, gradually transforming into graphics of information, numbers, and shapes. This new worldscape, woven with dazzlingly powerful images and sounds, presents us with the convergence of the real and the virtual. And on the 29th, "datamatics [ver.2.0]" (produced from 2006) will be performed. Datamatics is a project that explores the aesthetic and formal perception of the vast amount of invisible data emerging around the world. Data made perceptible through a mathematical approach unfolds into a majestic world as vivid, minimalist images.
