Jun 11, 2018
Louis Vuitton has produced trunks to hold the winner's trophy for the 2018 French Open at Roland Garros, one of the four major international tennis tournaments.
Following on from 2017, Louis Vuitton has produced the trophy cases for the second consecutive tournament. Since its founding in 1854, personalization through painting has been an essential element of the Maison's DNA and traditional know-how. The 2018 trunks feature a Roland Garros 2018 poster designed by French artist Fabienne Verdier. Crafted in the Maison's historic atelier, the two trunks feature traditional designs featuring Louis Vuitton's signature Monogram canvas and brass clasps.
During the women's singles final held on June 9th local time, actress Isabelle Huppert appeared from the VIP stands carrying the trophy and trunk. Also, at the men's singles final on June 10, actress Léa Seydoux appeared with a trunk containing the trophy, adding a touch of glamour to the venue.

French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli Prior to the tournament, Giudicelli commented, "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Louis Vuitton again this year. As the new stadium facilities are completed and the stage is unveiled, the trophy will shine even more brightly in this beautiful trunk. The trophy presentation ceremony will be a perfect tribute to the evolution of the tournament."

Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke also said, "We are thrilled to be teaming up with the French Tennis Federation again after last year and to play such an important role in the tournament. It is a great honor for the Maison to be involved again this year, designing the trophy case and painting the 2018 tournament poster on the trunk. The bond between Louis Vuitton and the tournament will continue to deepen through our respective histories and expertise." True to their words, Roland Garros 2018 was a great success as the world's most prestigious sporting event, and the Louis Vuitton trunks, along with the championship trophies held by the glorious players Simona Halep and Rafael Nadal, added a touch of elegance to the ceremony with their overwhelming presence.
