Gucci has announced a Japan-exclusive collection in collaboration with Japanese artist Yuko Higuchi. The collection will be available at select Gucci stores in Japan and on the official Gucci online store (gucci.com/jp) from May 17th.

Tokyo-based Yuko Higuchi is widely known for her works featuring strange and fantastical characters. Her characters, such as anthropomorphized rabbits, cats, dogs, and other imaginary animals, combine a mysterious and innocent quality, evoking a dark, fairy-tale-like image that draws you in. This Japan-exclusive collaborative collection features women's handbags, small leather goods, and apparel, all featuring artwork specially created by Higuchi.

Handbags and small leather goods feature a colorful illustration of a garden filled with rabbits and birds, along with Gucci's signature blue-red-blue Web stripe, white leather trim, and metal Double G hardware or oval enamel detailing adorned with the Double G.

The printed fabric used for the bags and leather goods was specially developed for this collection to capture the artwork's vibrant colors and details while also providing excellent durability. All items feature a leather tag or engraved text on the inside identifying them as a Japan-exclusive collection.

The collection includes cotton jersey T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hooded zip-up nylon jackets featuring Higuchi's artwork, all with a label that reads "Gucci Japan Exclusive."

The garden that Higuchi painted for this collection also features "Hitotsume-chan," a character born from her own imagination. The collection will also be delivered in special packaging featuring a shopper and box with the vibrant colors of "Higuchi Yuko Garden" printed on them, pink inner wrapping paper, and black grosgrain ribbon.
