Kuroyanagi has been active at the forefront as an actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, while Tagawa, known as a "charismatic bead embroidery expert" and creator of countless beautiful dresses, first met when Tagawa designed a dress for Kuroyanagi. The two share a love for beautiful and wonderful things, and their collections span a wide range, from kimonos to dresses, crafts, and antiques.
This exhibition is the embodiment of the couple's desire to let more people know about the splendor of things that they consider to be "SU・TE・KI!" regardless of the era, and to preserve them for the future...The exhibition held at Nihonbashi Takashimaya in the summer of 2017 was a huge success. This time, the Yokohama store will feature collections that were not exhibited at the Nihonbashi store.

This exhibition will be divided into four sections. "Japanese Style - Craftsmanship" will showcase the wonderful Japanese art of the couple, focusing on kimonos and other items that they have collected after falling in love with the various techniques they have used. The exhibition will feature the couple's extravagant trousseau from the early Showa period, a variety of lustrous kimonos, kimonos with haute couture bead embroidery, and beaded kimonos and dresses worn by Kuroyanagi.
"Flowers - The World of Flowers" is a gorgeous collection with a motif of a floral world where flowers bloom and birds fly. Exhibiting exquisite items that have added color to the couple's lives in many ways are floral embroidered tapestries, glass paperweights, and flower dresses.

In addition, there will be exhibits in "Chinoiserie - The Exquisite Chinese Style," which showcases Oriental beauty such as Qing dynasty court costumes, antique tableware, and embroidery techniques that are hard to believe are over several hundred years old, as well as "Oriental - The Beauty of Oriental Color Combinations," which introduces antique fabrics, shawls, rugs, dresses, and more collected in India, Afghanistan, and other countries.
Enjoy the collections spanning several decades that meet the aesthetic sense of these two artists, who have been at the forefront of their respective fields and have come into contact with beautiful things.
