Vacheron Constantin launches two new black dial models in the Overseas collection

Apr 17, 2018
A new version of Vacheron Constantin's Overseas collection will be released around June, featuring a beautiful black dial framed by the metallic shine of the steel case.

Overseas Automatic (¥2,230,000)
The Overseas, introduced over 20 years ago, symbolizes the joy of the brand, which shifted its focus to creating watches for travelers who enjoy extraordinary adventures. In 2016, the Geneva-based manufacturer introduced a collection that refined the design while retaining the original intent of the Overseas, bringing a new twist to this iconic model. Combining strength and distinctive individuality, a sporty atmosphere and an undeniable sense of refinement, the new generation Overseas perfectly blends high performance with styling, and its striking blue dial evokes the sea.

And now, in 2018, a new model with a black dial will be released, while retaining the collection's key features that define its appearance and watchmaking quality, such as the bezel featuring six protruding motifs, the in-house automatic movement, and the interchangeable bracelet/strap. It will be available in two types: the understated three-hand automatic model Overseas Automatic (2.23 million yen) and the Overseas Chronograph (3.21 million yen).

"Overseas Chronograph" (3,210,000 yen)
The chronograph features a "panda-type" color scheme inspired by motorsport chronographs made in the 1960s. The three subdials are finished in silver to ensure excellent legibility. This color scheme, with its striking contrast between light and dark, not only improves legibility but also serves to highlight the chronograph function.

Equipped with the automatic calibre 5200, the movement, with a 22K gold rotor adorned with a compass motif, can be seen through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. The twin-barrel movement also features a column wheel for controlling the chronograph's start, stop, and reset functions, as well as a vertical coupling clutch to prevent the hands from jumping during operation.

Furthermore, to make the Overseas a contemporary collection, the concept of the Interchangeable System, which allows for the interchangeability of bracelets and straps, was introduced two years ago. This system is also used in the new black-dial model, allowing the wearer to freely choose the strap they want to combine with their watch, whether it be a metal bracelet with links featuring a half Maltese cross motif, a leather strap, or a rubber strap. The interchangeability is easy and tool-free.

Enjoy the Overseas with its black dial, which is comfortable to wear and fits any occasion, in your own style.
