Spotify, one of the world's largest music streaming services, has teamed up with FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '18 (hereafter Fuji Rock) to launch a feature that automatically generates original playlists by selecting songs from artists performing at the festival based on each user's musical tastes and listening habits.

Fuji Rock is one of Japan's largest outdoor rock festivals, held from July 27th to 29th at Naeba Ski Resort (Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture). This year's festival will feature top international artists such as Bob Dylan, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and N.E.R.D., as well as popular Japanese artists like Sakanaction, Elephant Kashimashi, Suchmos, and Unicorn, as well as up-and-coming artists like odol and Kobukuro Nariaki.


Spotify users can simply click "Start" on the "My Fuji Rock Festival" page on the Fuji Rock official website and sync their Spotify account to enjoy the "My Fuji Rock Festival'18 Playlist," a custom-generated playlist featuring songs tailored to their tastes. This feature is unique to Spotify, whose automated recommendations are highly regarded by music listeners worldwide.

Spotify has previously provided similar services to the official websites of major overseas festivals such as Coachella and Pitchfork Music Festival, but this will be the first time that a similar feature will be offered in Japan for Fuji Rock.

Spotify has also released a playlist called "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'18," featuring songs selected exclusively by the service, which is building up excitement among music fans ahead of the start of the summer festival season.
