"SEASIDE CINEMA" is an outdoor theater event where you can enjoy watching movies in an open space overlooking the Minato Mirai night view. For a total of five days from May 2nd to 6th, "THEATER RED BRICK" will be held at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, and "THEATER MARINE & WALK" will be held at MARINE & WALK YOKOHAMA.


Until last year, the outdoor theater events were held at separate venues, but this year they will be held jointly. At Theater Akarenga, a special 450-inch screen will be set up in the grassy Red Brick Park, which offers a panoramic view of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and the night view of Minato Mirai.


Based on the theme of "family movies" that the whole family can enjoy, we will be screening a different film each day, including the timeless animated classic "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro," which has a passionate fan base not only in Japan but around the world, and "Paddington," the first live-action film adaptation of the British children's literature series, which has sold over 35 million copies and been translated into over 40 languages since its first publication in 1958.

In addition, as a linked event during the day, we will be showcasing an original "THEATER RED BRICK" art set, built by artist Akihisa Okamoto, who has worked on art sets for renowned theme parks and films. It will be an interactive photo spot where you can pose as a character in a movie-like atmosphere. At Theater Marine & Walk, a special venue has been set up in an exclusive location where you can enjoy the night view of Minato Mirai and the sea. A selection of must-see masterpieces will be screened on different days throughout the period, including "Oceans," a marine documentary themed on "sea and music" that took more than four years to film in 50 locations around the world, depicting the world's oceans and the creatures that live there with groundbreaking visual beauty, and "Stand by Me," which depicts the unforgettable summer adventure of a group of emotionally scarred boys, set to the famous theme song.


In addition, as an event linked to the film screenings, a "DIY Wooden Row Chair Workshop" using wood will be held during the daytime from May 3rd to 5th. Chairs made can be brought and used at the evening event venue. A handmade chair will make your movie viewing experience even more special.

The stores within each facility will have special takeout menus perfect for watching movies, and you are free to bring your own food and drinks into each venue.
In addition, during the event period, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will also be hosting "Yokohama Frühlingsfest 2018," an event that recreates a German spring festival. In addition to food and drinks like sausages and other German classics, as well as German beer, the event is packed with content, including a traveling amusement park, music performances by a German orchestra, and workshops for children. The space allows visitors to enjoy food and drink while watching movies, providing a day filled with excitement for both adults and children.
