tac:tac, what time imprints on clothes [2018-19 Fall/Winter Collection]

May 10, 2018
The visuals for the Fall/Winter 2018-19 collection from tac:tac, a brand created by designer Shimase Takaaki and pattern designer Shimamura Kodaita, have arrived.
The onomatopoeic sound of a clock (tic-tac) is one of the origins of the brand name, and for tac:tac, "time" is a philosophy. For example, the "circle" on the brand name tag, representing a "clock without hands," signifies that each purchaser's time is marked, representing the creators' belief that wearing clothing is a personal choice.
The visuals for previous seasons, featuring one man and one woman, were created by simply adding people and time (a clock) to an already existing location. As each look progressed, the hands of the clock moved forward, capturing scenes that inscribed the concept of tac:tac into everyday life.
This marks the 10th season since the brand launched in 2013. This season's visual features a man and a woman, as well as an elderly father, in an impersonal space containing only a clock and a door. This side and the other side of another dimension exist. Opening the door takes you into this world, and the new season begins with a scene reminiscent of the designer's "Room of Spirit and Time."
