Frank Gehry
One of the most important and influential architects of our time, he has repeatedly received international awards, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize and the Praemium Imperiale. The Guggenheim Museum has been described as "the most celebrated building in the world." When embarking on a project, he first draws sketches after fully understanding the scale, budget, surrounding environment, and legal constraints—all of which impose constraints on aesthetic sensibility. The sketches may appear to be nothing more than a collection of wriggling lines, but when you compare the sketches with the completed building, you can see many similarities. While overly original and bold forms can sometimes be criticized, truly good works will, over time, be accepted by people as symbols of a place and eventually change standards of beauty. Enjoy the many pieces of art on display at Saf Gallery.

"Unique architecture is born from line drawings. Frank Gehry's work, which creates the world as if it were God's play, seems to lift the lid on the creative possibilities we can imagine. Our foundation's project, which promotes collaboration with over 300 art galleries in Ginza and serves as a hub for the world, will be a new experience for me and for everyone. Let's enjoy art from all over the world."
