The global touring exhibition "thinking tools," focusing on the pen design process of German writing instrument manufacturer LAMY, will be held at Gallery 3 of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo Midtown from March 3rd to April 8th.

Founded in Heidelberg, Germany in 1930, LAMY has brought innovation to the global writing instrument market with its unique designs, and products developed in collaboration with designers from various fields around the world have won numerous design awards.

The exhibition will feature prototypes of various iconic LAMY pens, as well as scenes from the product development process, along with drawings and installations created specifically for the exhibition by illustrator Christoph Niemann, exploring the essence of functional beauty and design. Additionally, venue-exclusive items such as the "Lamy Al-Star Fountain Pen thinking tools model" (5,000 yen), exhibition catalogue (3,500 yen), and poster (500 yen) will also be on sale.

In addition, during the exhibition, there will be gallery talks featuring guest speakers such as Naoto Fukasawa, who designed Lamy's classic ballpoint pen "Lamy Noto," and Akira Onuki from the marketing team at Lamy's headquarters in Germany. Further details will be announced sequentially on the exhibition page on the Lamy Japan website (http://www.lamy.jp/thinkingtools.html).
