Hummel Hive x Mita Sneakers release collaboration sneakers inspired by Danish sweet bread

Feb 5, 2018
HUMMEL HIVE will release a collaboration model with mita sneakers, a sneaker shop located in Ueno, Tokyo, starting February 3rd.

"MARATHONA OG MITA "Danish Pastry" "mita sneakers" "LIMITED EDITION for HUMMEL HIVE"" (¥15,000)

This collaboration model with mita sneakers is inspired by the traditional Danish dish "smørrebrød," which was released in December 2016 and received rave reviews. This second instalment is inspired by Danish pastry, a sweet bread originating in Denmark.

The base model is Hummel's signature running shoe, the Marathona, which was released in 1983. The upper is colored dark cherry and the midsole is colored custard, and when placed in a special box printed with a graphic of Danish pastry, it becomes a Danish pastry. It also comes with shoelaces in the same color as the upper, allowing for a different look.

The chevron lines on the side panels and the tongue have also been redesigned. The cup insole, which has improved cushioning, features a graphic motif of a wooden plate used to serve Danish pastries, combined with Mita Sneakers' iconic wire mesh and Tokyo Kai designs.

In Japan, the shoes will be sold exclusively at three stores: Mita Sneakers, JOINT WORKS Shinjuku store ms shop, and Beams Harajuku store. They will also be available in select shops around the world.
