The Louis Vuitton Ginza Namiki Dori store will be relocated and reopen at the Tokyo Ginza Asahi Building (6-6-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) on January 20th due to reconstruction. An opening event was held on the 18th inviting media representatives, with actress Mitsuki Takahata being the first customer to visit the new store.
The store, which opened in 1981 as Japan's first directly managed store, has undergone several renovations and has woven a history alongside Ginza Namiki Dori. The new store, which will relocate and open in the nearby Ginza 6-chome, will consist of two floors and feature a state-of-the-art design by the Louis Vuitton Malletier Architecture Department, creating an open space with soft natural light streaming in. The façade features a design inspired by Marcel Wanders' "Diamond Screen" from the Objet Nomade Collection, a home and travel collection created by the Maison's savoir-faire and renowned designers.

Meanwhile, the men's floor on the second floor has a different atmosphere, with dark color tones creating a dignified and calm atmosphere.

To commemorate the relocation and reopening, three new bags from the "Capucines" series, inspired by Japanese fortune-telling slips - in pink, white, and black - will be available exclusively at the Ginza Namiki Dori store from the 20th in Japan, and the "Objet Nomade Collection" will also be launched in the future.
Limited edition bags from the "Capucines" series inspired by Japanese fortune-telling slipsTakahata Mitsuki attended the opening event on the 18th wearing a body-hugging striped knit dress, a key feature of Louis Vuitton's 2018 Spring/Summer Collection. In October 2017, Takahata attended the 2018 Spring/Summer Women's Collection show at the Louvre Museum in Paris, where she sat in the front row. Recalling that experience, she said, "It was my first time seeing Paris Fashion Week, and the attention to detail was so condensed into those few 10 minutes... I'd always thought of clothes as entertainment, but that was all I'd ever seen. I was deeply shocked to realize that fashion is a culture." She also commented, "Louis Vuitton was a brand I admired, but it was out of my reach at 26 years old. Now I can wear it, and it makes me feel taller." In honor of 2018 being the Year of the Dog, not only were dog sculptures displayed throughout the store, but a black Shiba Inu puppy was also on display. Holding the Shiba Inu, Takahata said, "It's impressive that you're working at just two months old," drawing laughter from the audience. She also revealed, "Actually, my family's beloved dog passed away last year." At the event, Takahata was presented with Louis Vuitton's signature makeup case, the Boite Flacon, which had been hand-painted by artisans to resemble her beloved dog.
