Jun 19, 2013

Levi's is selling a collaborative T-shirt with music event promotion company Family Dog. The shirts feature live concert poster art created by Family Dog. There are four designs available. The psychedelic jam band The Blues Project version features artwork from their joint concert held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on April 22 and 23, 1966. The Grateful Dead version features artwork from concerts held in September and August of 1966, while The Daily Flash version features artwork from a concert held in May of that year. Each jersey crew neck shirt costs 3,675 yen. Available in men's only. Family Dog was founded in 1966 by promoter Chet Helms and his fellow hippies to promote rock events. The event they organized, "The Family Dog's weekly dance hall," is known as the foundation of the counterculture revolution that swept America in the 1960s. Many graphic artists worked on its promotion, and psychedelic art techniques became popular, giving birth to some of the most famous art in rock history.
