Imperial Hotel's Strawberry Fair kicks off with afternoon tea and sweets made with seasonal strawberries

The Imperial Hotel Tokyo will kick off its first Strawberry Fair in January. The Imperial Lounge Aqua on the 17th floor of the main building will serve the popular annual strawberry-filled Afternoon Tea "Strawberry," while Gargantua, the hotel shop on the first floor of the main building, will sell takeout items including sweets made with strawberries. The "Afternoon Tea &ndquo;Strawberry”" (4,536 yen including tax), available at Imperial Lounge Aqua, is an afternoon tea menu that incorporates plenty of seasonal strawberries. As the first part of the Strawberry Fair, it will be available for a limited time from January 6th to February 28th.

The menu includes items that will make you feel the arrival of spring, such as pistachio macaroons, strawberry cupcakes with pistachio cream, and king crab and strawberry sandwiches, all made with pistachios that complement the tartness and color of strawberries. For drinks, you can choose freely from around 30 original tea variations selected by a tea instructor.

The second part of the Strawberry Fair will be available from March 1st to late April, with different drinks available.

Gargantua on the first floor of the main building is selling three kinds of strawberry sweets from January 1st to March 31st.

The "Strawberry Chiffon Cake" (810 yen) is a chiffon cake made with strawberries and orange-flavored black tea kneaded into the dough, sandwiched between strawberries and whipped cream. The "Mille-feuille (972 yen)" is a popular dish made with layers of crispy pie, sweet and sour strawberries, and rich custard cream. The "Tarte Fraise" (1,296 yen) is a round tart filled with Grand Marnier-flavored custard cream, topped with fresh domestic strawberries and garnished with pistachios that go perfectly with strawberries, allowing you to enjoy the rich flavor of strawberries. Why not order it for takeout and enjoy the arrival of spring at home?
