Louis Vuitton has launched its new fine jewelry collection, "LV Diamond." Prior to its global release, the collection began pre-sales at four stores in the US, at its Rodeo Drive and Fifth Avenue stores, from July 11th, and in Japan, at Matsuya Ginza and Umeda Hankyu Watch & Fine Jewelry, from July 15th.

LV Monogram Star - A Cut That Reinvents an Era

The iconic Monogram Flower, a timeless and bold design that is ubiquitous throughout the Maison, is elevated to a timeless symbol by the LV Monogram Star-cut diamond. Innovation, tradition, and technique combine with the creativity and savoir-faire of a jeweler to create a unique cut named the LV Monogram Star. Its 53 facets with a pointed culet create an instantly recognizable design, reinterpreting the iconic star-shaped Monogram Flower designed by Georges Vuitton in 1896. Its bold, dynamic cut and innovative contours create a sophisticated yet authentic piece of jewelry that radiates timeless brilliance.


Creations

Designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director of Watches and Fine Jewelry, the LV Diamond Collection features a wide range of pieces adorned with the LV Monogram Star and brilliant-cut diamonds.

Each piece, including center stone rings, understated yet bold unisex rings, earrings, and pendants, embodies the Louis Vuitton aesthetic. Available in platinum, pink gold, and half-pavé, the rings evoke the Art Deco "V" motif, a symbol of the design that Gaston-Louis Vuitton used on suitcases in the 1920s and 1930s. The LV Monogram Star-Cut Diamond is set as the centerpiece, further enhancing the design's luxurious appeal. The LV Monogram Star-Cut Diamond also stands out among the platinum rings studded with diamonds or set entirely in pavé. Crafted with the exceptional skill of Louis Vuitton's jewellery artisans, the Monogram Flower becomes the bezel, with small V-shaped prongs encircling the curves and edges of the beautiful gemstone.

The collection is completed by a unisex ring, full of playfulness and graphic allure, reminiscent of the Damier canvas invented by Georges Vuitton in 1888.

Furthermore, pendants and earrings combine flowers set with brilliant-cut and pavé diamonds, creating new everyday pieces that add sparkle to your everyday life. The double motif of diamonds and gold adorns the neck and ears in a dazzling way.

The harmonious use of the same colours and materials – white and pink gold, the pure brilliance of platinum, the dazzling sparkle of diamonds – further enhances the allure of the new fine jewellery collection. The unisex pieces are designed to be worn alone, combined or layered with other pieces, allowing for a mix and match experience that is part of an eternal dialogue.

LV Diamond Grading Report

For the first time, Louis Vuitton will issue a grading report for LV Diamonds in this collection. This grading report reflects Louis Vuitton's commitment to transparent rough stone sourcing. It is included with each item featuring an LV Diamond as the center stone and lists the carat, color, clarity, and cut quality of each diamond. It also allows users to trace the diamond's journey from the country where it was mined to where it was cut, polished, and set, and finally to the store, carefully recording each and every LV Diamond's journey. To enhance the security of the grading report, Louis Vuitton has adopted blockchain technology. This cutting-edge technology is operated by the Aura Blockchain Consortium, a platform specialized in the luxury industry, and enables the recording and publishing of anti-counterfeiting data through distributed storage. This platform has direct access to the history of diamonds and their lifecycle from mining to distribution, and is expected to solve many issues related to diamond durability as well as responsible sourcing.
