To commemorate its 110th anniversary, AGC Asahi Glass will be holding an exhibition titled "FEEL! GLASS" from November 20th to 26th at Space O in Omotesando Hills, recreating all of the works it presented at Milan Design Week from 2015 to 2017.
AGC Asahi Glass has been participating in Milan Design Week, a global design festival, since 2015, and for three years has been presenting works created in collaboration with creators. The works, which overturn the conventional image of glass, have attracted a total of more than 100,000 visitors over the three years and have received a great deal of attention both in Japan and overseas.
This exhibition is a space where you can experience the future of glass, including glass that "projects images," "thin, light, and strong" glass, and glass that "focuses on tactile feel," all of which were unveiled in Milan. The venue is divided into two areas; the 110th anniversary area traces AGC Asahi Glass's 110-year history of contributions to industry and society and introduces the latest technologies that suggest the future of glass, while the Milan Design Week works area displays works that have been unveiled at Milan Design Week over the past three years, providing inspiration for the future of glass.

The 2015 work, GLACIER FORMATION, is a new visual space inspired by a glacier, created by meticulously and dynamically arranging approximately 3m-tall glass pieces onto which images can be projected. Guests can experience the unique properties of glass, such as transparency and reflection. The spatial design was handled by Norihisa Kawashima and Keika Sato of ARTENVARCH, technical direction by Yutaka Endo of LUFTZUG, and video design by Kazumasa Teshigahara of qubibi.

The 2016 work, Amorphous, is a molecular structure model of glass magnified 1 billion times, created from various types of thin, chemically strengthened glass. Overturning conventional perceptions of glass, this fantastical piece allows visitors to experience the amorphous molecular structure of glass, created by its thin, light texture. The spatial design was handled by Eisuke Tachikawa of NOSIGNER, and the lighting design by Izumi Okayasu.

The 2017 piece, Touch, is an experiential exhibition that focuses on the act of touching glass. The artist created objects and play equipment that encourage actions such as shaking, tapping, spinning, and drawing. This piece allows visitors to experience the feel of glass, which has been created through a variety of processes including templates, molding dies, chemical treatments, and coatings. The design was created by Jin Kuramoto and Raw-Edges.
Come experience the evolution and new possibilities of glass proposed by AGC Asahi Glass, a global leader in architectural, automotive, and display glass.
