To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1, Nike has announced the "AF-100," a collaboration with artists from around the world, featuring the shoe's signature white/white colorway.

The project was launched by Nike Sportswear Senior Creative Director Al Baik as lead designer. Al Baik said: "The Air Force 1 white on white has a timeless position. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1, we chose collaborators who will influence future generations across culture. The intention was to reexamine the white on white piece. The design direction was to stay classic and instantly recognizable as an Air Force 1, while also connecting to the lives of each of the collaborators and the fields they represent."
Collaborating with the Air Force 1 this time are Don C, Kareem Burke, Errolson Hugh, Travis Scott and Virgil Abloh.
"Nike Air Force 1 Hi Just Don" (¥21,600 including tax)
This collaboration with Don C, a lover of sneakers and basketball culture, was in line with his desire to create a premium-looking shoe, featuring rounded edges and gold accents. "I wanted to mix high-quality leather with the highest quality materials and fabrics, and I was able to realize my desire. I also wanted to incorporate details from the Air Force 2 and Air Force 3, so I'm grateful that Nike gave me the freedom to do what I wanted," said Don C.
"Nike Air Force 1 '07 Roc-A-Fella" (¥19,440)
Kareem Burke said, "When you think of Roc-A-Fella, you think of the logo. When you think of sneakers, you think of the Air Force 1. The Air Force 1 is the shoe that truly represents Roc-A-Fella, so to be able to put our logo on the Air Force 1 is very special. The Roc-A-Fella logo is something we all hold dear. It's not just a symbol, it represents what we believe in. Having the logo on, "It represents a sincere relationship and friendship, in other words, it's proof that we're allies," he said, resulting in a shoe that is particularly influenced by the original.
Nike Lunar Force 1/Acronym '17" (¥25,920)
This shoe, which focuses on shoe functionality and aims to push the boundaries of design, is a collaboration with Errolson Hugh. "We asked ourselves, 'Why are we doing this? What can we offer that Nike hasn't yet?'" said Errolson Hugh. "Just like we always do with apparel, we looked at the issues and functionality and thought about how we could improve it."
"Nike Air Force 1 Low Travis Scott" (¥17,280)
"I wanted to approach this shoe from the same perspective I would when making an album, to tell my own story. I create a crazy atmosphere in my shows. I'm like the acid of rap," said Travis Scott. These words inspired him to create something that felt like a classic trip.
"Nike Air Force 1 '07 Off-White" (¥21,600)
"I looked at the cultural background of white/white and designed the Air Force 1 to ensure it wouldn't become something completely different," says Virgil Abloh, who began with an existing design and then iterated through a process of editing. Not every color is iconic, but white has iconic value, and the resulting design infused white with meaning. Following the completion of the collaboration, project initiator Al Burke said, "This shoe is authentic and meaningful to all of our collaborators, but it also pushes the boundaries of design. Above all, we see an incredible story being told in all of these."
The release dates for each model are as follows: "Nike Air Force 1 '07 Off-White" (not yet available in Japan), "Nike Air Force 1 '07 Roc-A-Fella" from November 30th, "Nike Air Force 1 Low Travis Scott" from December 3rd, "Nike Air Force 1 Hi Just Don" from December 1st, and "Nike Lunar Force 1/Acronym '17" from December 2nd. They will be available on Nike SNKRS and at select Nike retailers.
