COOHEM, the brand that has developed "knit tweed," a photogenic and pop-colored fabric that transcends the conventional notion of knitwear, will host an exhibition titled "COOHEM CUSTOMIZE KNIT TWEED" at PASS THE BATON GALLERY in Omotesando from November 2nd.
COOHEM, a name coined from the word "kouhen" (interweaving), refers to the technique of combining multiple materials of different shapes to create entirely new materials. Launched in the Fall/Winter 2010 collection, COOHEM is a factory brand of Yonetomi Seni Co., Ltd., a long-established knitwear manufacturer in Yamagata Prefecture. Using a unique textile called knit tweed, COOHEM expresses a completely new style of traditional wear.
This fourth event at PASS THE BATON GALLERY will feature a custom-made event where visitors can customize a striking Aran sweater made from Italian deadstock yarn with COOHEM knit tweed pockets and elbow patches. The Aran sweaters are available in five colors (white/red/green/indigo/black) and two unisex sizes (SIZE1/SIZE2). Customers can create a one-of-a-kind Aran sweater by selecting the matching Cohen knit tweed combination (chest pocket only/elbow patches only/both chest pocket and elbow patches) and ordering. Prices are as follows: Aran sweater only (38,880 yen including tax), Aran sweater + chest pocket (39,960 yen including tax), Aran sweater + elbow patches (41,040 yen including tax), Aran sweater + chest pocket and elbow patches (42,120 yen including tax). Additionally, Cohen's custom-made fancy yarns, knit tweed panels, and clutch bags, which are always very popular, will also be available.
